PITTI UOMO 89… and deliver us from EVIL

Mientras MP esta quemando horas al sol y disfrutando de la playa yo, Gala, estoy en Barcelona aguantando el invierno a pocos días de cumplir años. Lo que me motiva ahora es el saber que en marzo me voy de viaje, eso me genera un poco de ansiedad, pero es esa ansiedad que está buena. Se vienen unos post de travel de lugares que uno no ve siempre en los blogs de moda, ya van a ver.

Voy al tema que nos compete. La semana pasada fue uno de los eventos mas importantes del año para el mundo de la moda masculina, se realizó la feria Pitti Uomo 89 bajo el tema “Pitti generation” que refiere a  la coexistencia de diferentes generaciones y estilos en la moda contemporánea. Compradores y comerciantes rodeados de la belleza florentina (fue en Florencia, Italia, vale destacar) disfrutaron de exposiciones, presentaciones , desfiles y pop-up stores de mas de 1200 marcas italianas, internacionales y emergentes que exhiben las tendencias próximas. El streetstyle estuvo marcado por los repetidos trajes a medida de tres piezas a cuadros, rayas,o mezclados entre si, sombreros y muchos accesorios (ya verán), muy al estilo pitti. Hay algunas cosas increíbles, y otras que más que Pitti Uomo, apuntan a Pity Alvarez.

While MP is sunbathing and enjoying the beaches of Argentina, myself, Gala, I’m in Barcelona trying to hold on to anything in order to go through the winter, just a few days away from my birthday. What motivates me lately, is that around March, I’ll be on the road again, which generates a bit of anxiety, but its the kind of good anxiety that makes everything worthwhile. You can expect nice travel blogposts, also in accordance to the resolution we made to ourselves in our post “Wir Kinder”. 

But enough about myself. Last week the Pitti Uomo 89 week took place in Firenze, Italy. It is one of the most important menswear events in the year. The theme this year was Pitti Generation, and referred directly to the coexistence of different generations and styles in contemporary fashion. Buyers and traders from the industry enjoyed expositions, presentations and pop-up stores from more than 1200 brands (both italian, international and emerging) exhibiting what’s up next on menswear. Street-style is also a very important part of the event, and was dictated by a broad variety of choices: three-piece suits in stripes or checkers, or mixed, hats and tons of accessories. There are some incredible style choices, and some that instead of being very Pitti Uomo, are very pittiFUL.
